Here’s the finished 36″x(approx.) 20″ painting for Lucky Bike. It’s made up of three differently shaped, differently painted panels. I glued the predominantly yellow and black, semi-circle panel representing the shop on top of the square background plywood panel. The trapezoidal panel below the shop, representing the concrete skirt in front, is also mounted at about a 15° angle, giving a greater illusion of depth.
As I said below, Lucky Bike is a unique, quirky little place to which the owner has given a fun sense of style. I wanted to honor that by using a variety of shapes to give the painting a quirky silhouette.
