French Huguenot Church

We moved to South Carolina eight years ago. Yet we hadn’t been to Charleston. Our friends and neighbors here were incredulous. Charleston to South Carolinians is like Paris to the French or Mecca to Muslims. You just don’t live here and not go to Charleston.

Charleston is a destination and a state of mind. They have a saying: Charleston is where the Ashley and Cooper Rivers join to form the Atlantic Ocean. If you’ve been there, you understand.

We’ve finally been there. We’ll be going back.

Here’s some digital images that are only the first of my visual exploration of a very visual place. (Double-click for larger views.)
