Last summer, MAC (Municipal Arts Council here in Greenville, SC) put out a call for artists and designers to come up with a logo for the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association’s National Championships to be held in Greenville in May, 2012. Now, who wouldn’t be excited about that? I do logos. But, originally being from L.A., I’m an L.A. kinda sports fan. I bleed Dodger blue and Laker purple and avidly support whichever NFL team is most likely to win the Superbowl. So I had a question.
What’s lacrosse?
Ask that question out loud in my new hometown and people look at you as if you just asked who’s Charlie Daniels?
Look it up.
I did.
Turns out, lacrosse is a cool thing for which to make a logo in a logo making contest.
I did.
It won.
Here it is.

Congratulations! Your logo is great. (I actually entered the contest too — happy to have been better out by such good work. This was definitely better than what I had come up with. I’m not a sports fan, so that’s my excuse. 🙂 )

Thanks, Marie. Art competitions are fun around here because there’s so much talent. I’d liked to have seen some of the other entries. Good stuff, no doubt!
